What exactly does the Bible teach us about the coming judgment? We don't need to guess. Jesus gave us His reasons for judgment and told us what standards He'll use to judge us. We will be judged according to our works. Will they be good enough? In these passages from Matthew and Luke, we learn that Jesus made it clear how to live with the end in view by telling us in advance how He will judge. See links at left.

Questions people have

First things first: "What does it mean to get ready for Christ's return?"

"Doesn't getting ready imply that Jesus' work on the cross was insufficient?"

"When I am raptured or resurrected from the dead, won't I automatically appear in His likeness with joy and gladness?"

"Will Christians be judged according to their works, or not?"

"Isn't grace unmerited? How do works enter in?"

"Is it proper to be motivated by rewards? Isn't love a higher form of motivation?"

"Didn't God promise to forgive and forget all my sins through the finished work of Christ? After all, we are sinners, not perfect."

"Doesn't God treat the Church differently than the Israelites? The Old Testament isn't as relevant as the New."

"Don't the passages in the OT mentioning evil, proud, fools, and wicked persons refer to the unsaved, and good, wise, and righteous persons refer to the saved?"

"I am saved and going to heaven anyway, so why does it matter how I live?"
