"I am saved, so why does it matter how I live?"

God saved us to bring us into fellowship with Him. Sin will break that fellowship.

When we received Christ as our Savior, we were granted access to every divine provision to keep us from sin and keep us walking in the light.

When we continue in sin, we refuse to cooperate with God in His saving purpose. In that case, His purposes are directed to bring us to repentance.

As with the Israelites, so with the unrepentant in the Church--God will chastise them in order to convince them to return to Him in humility.

God will not force us to renounce sin. We may choose to participate fully in our salvation by being watchful against sin and seizing hold of every grace supplied to overcome sin triumphantly. Or we may choose to love our sin.

Christ suffered through a horrible, protracted torture to win us from our way that we may serve Him with complete surrender. God will not take it lightly if we choose to despise the suffering of our Savior by living carelessly. He came to destroy the works of the devil--should we applaud them? He came to save His people from their sin--shall we cling to it? To cross the Lord's purposes is to belittle the full salvation He died to gain for us.
