Countdown to Armageddon

Paul has given us "An absolutely fascinating look at the major prophetic trends affecting our world in the new millennium" (Peter LaLonde).
He divides his book into three sections. Section 1 covers significant recent historical events which can well lead to prophetic fulfillment soon. This includes weather patterns, breakdown in the family structure, attacks on privacy, and other indications.
Section 2 delves more deeply into Scripture and the direction of world events. It's interesting to see how Scripture can be fulfilled literally, according to our vantage point in history.
Section 3 interests me. Called, "Are We Ready For What Is Coming?" The author declares his support for to the pretribulation rapture position. He warns, however, that those who have an "escapist" mentality and are apathetic towards the will of God will be in for a rude awakening. He covers essential readiness passages such as the parable of the virgins and the wise and wicked servants. We are here to occupy till He comes, pretribulation rapture or no.
He warns us of the coming persecution of Christians before the rapture takes place. Such trouble is widespread outside America and has already begun in America.
It is highly unusual to see such warnings in a book from the perspective of pretribulationism. I commend the author for having the foresight and love to include it.
