Two more calligraphy pieces for the iPhone app, Steps of a Disciple

I’m making an attempt to do a calligraphic treatment for each of the chapters in the gospel of Mark. One verse per chapter. Here are two more verses I worked on today that will be included in the next update for the app. Enjoy!

I used green and brown ink with brush for the SON, brown ink and pointed pen for smaller lettering. Small embellishments in the SON were made by gel pens and Crayola Window Markers.

I used the Pilot Parallel pen for all the lettering. The verse itself was lettered on watercolor paper (that’s why you see gaps in the lettering). The marks on the right were made by running a wet erase marker on watercolor paper, then applying misting to it, causing it to run. The Window Marker and wet erase ideas were introduced to me by my teacher, Barbra Close, in her workshops earlier.
