These are things to keep in mind as you put pen to paper during your practice times. Sometimes I've written words over and over, and don't understand why it still never looks quite right. That's what this page is for.

There are a lot of little details to try to remember, and these steps will help you focus on each one in a practice session. Record your experience with each of these steps, or just note that you finished it. You should use several sentences for these practice sessions, such as two-line poetry, an alphabet sentence, or favorite sayings that you might like to frame some day. Focus on holding the pen comfortably. Get rid of the "death grip."

Focus on maintaining a consistent slope angle. Follow the slanted guide lines strictly.

Focus on consistent letter and word spacing. You should be able to fit the letter "o" in between words.

Focus on maintaining a consistent letter height. Pay strict attention to the horizontal guide lines.

Practice writing slowly to pay attention to detail and gain patience and endurance.

Focus on consistency in letter width. Keep each occurance of a letter the same size.

Stretch the letter-spacing and letter width further apart for variety, keeping the letters the same size.

Squeeze the letter-spacing and letter width closer together for variety, keeping the letters the same size.
