“They took some of the fruit of the land in their hands and brought it down to us, and brought us word again, and said, ‘It is a good land which Yahweh our God gives to us’ ” (Deut. 1:25). Moses here is reminding the Israelites of the good reports from those who spied out the land. Now you have the promise of the God who cannot lie. “It is a good land the Lord our God is giving us.” It is worth the effort. The seed falling into the ground sprouts something beautiful in its place. The grub spinning a cocoon tomb emerges as a thing of beauty to soar on gossamer wings.
It’s a good land. Keep your eyes on the prize. Go for the gold. Run for the touchdown. Let every promise of God spur you on to victory. It’s a good land. It’s worth the time you spend. Things will be better than before, and you weren’t happy with the past or content with the present.
It’s a good land. Knowing God. Led by the Spirit. Security with God at your side. Peace knowing He has your back. Having strength to go on. Resting in God’s love. Yes, it’s a good land. You know this because the all-good God Himself is giving it to you. He doesn’t give junk.
It is good because it enables you to rejoice when you find no affordable home, sing when your health is fading, and be confident when you experience rejection.
Refresh yourself with the good reports of the land. Hide the promises in your heart. Maintain the vision as you go forward. Remember the good.
Don’t leave the teaching in your mind. Put on Christ as you learn of Him. Practice the fruit now: Christ forgave all, so you do so today. Jesus had patience, so you show patience to all today.
Pay attention to the good reports, the testimonies of those who have been with the Lord for a long time, and have hope.
The good land is the internal garden of Eden where God meets with you in the cool of the day. It is the Kingdom of God within you. The good land is the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. God has a future and a hope for you exceeding your dreams, going exceedingly abundantly above what you are able to think. When you believe the promise, then you are taking the Good Shepherd’s hand and allowing Him to lead you.
