Words for Warriors, “Take it to Heart”

“Behold, Yahweh your God has set the land before you. Go up, take possession, as Yahweh the God of your fathers has spoken to you. Don’t be afraid, neither be dismayed” (Deut. 1:21).

You’ve tried and failed. You got up again and did your best. It was never good enough. You’re discouraged. You’re stressed. That’s good—because it will help you see the difference between your effort and the Spirit’s power. You could not drive out the foe on your own. Now you do it from the position of being in Christ, with all the resources of God at reach. Now you do it with the knowledge that God is for you.

Jesus will set up His Kingdom. The devil will be cast out to torment you no more. Death will vanish like the taxes taken out of your paycheck. You will have a resurrection body that will sin and die no more. Your Kryptonite won’t weaken you. Further out in your timeline is the new you laughing and exulting in your glorious life in the Kingdom.

The Lord has set the land before you. In the pages of the book in your hands, He has given you a teasing glimpse of the blessings of being in Christ. They are already yours.

You are accepted in the Beloved. Go in and possess it. Take it to heart and stop trying so hard to be or feel worthy. Now you live from the position as already accepted. Now live from a position of love and acceptance.

In Christ you are without condemnation. Possess it. Guard the word of truth in your heart. Do not fear or be afraid when the tempter whispers that you are nobody and will never be good enough.

Grab a promise in the Word of God and let it be the hand that helps you to your feet again. It will be the wind in your sails, the light to your path. It will be water to cool you and honey to energize you. You need not be discouraged because a greater than Solomon is here. God Himself will fight for you. Let the promises fuel your faith.
