The variations of the Italic cursive forms are virtually unlimited. Here are several ways you can branch out to add more pizzazz to your work.
Change Ascenders
Above are five different types of ascenders. How many more can you think of?
Vary Letter-height
You can vary the height of the ascenders according to the spacing between lines of text.
Vary Loops
You have many options when it comes to closing the loop or "bowl" of a letter.
Change Slant Angle
You are not limited to the slight slant angle shown in these app videos. Set the letters upright (left) or increase the angle significantly (right).
Stretch Letters
You can narrow the width of each letter (left) or make them wider (right) to fit the space or mood.
Change baseline
Why write in a straight line? Do a loop, meander up and down, or stagger your letters (jogging adjacent letters up or down) for a more light-hearted feel.
Change Color
Add color to your letters. Color can emphasize some words or communicate a mood.
Many more variations are possible. Swap out your pen nib for a wider or narrower nib for even more variations. Join the letters together as in handwriting. Go to your library or check the links provided in this app for many more exciting and imaginative ways to communicate your heart!
