Where did Jesus go when He died?

In Luke 16:19-31, we find out where the OT saints went when they passed away. That’s probably where Jesus went with the thief upon their deaths. It was a vast area that was divided into two with a large gap between them so one cannot cross to the other. One side had rest while the other had flames.

When NT believers die, they go straight to Jesus (to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, 2 Corinthians 5:8; see also Philippians 1:23).

At the rapture, Jesus will receive us in the clouds above and take us to where God dwells. See the details in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17. Many details about the resurrection can be found in 1 Corinthians 15.
